Database: On July 1, 1999, the Research Collaboratory for Structural
Bioinformatics (RCSB) will take over full responsibility of the Protein
Data Bank (PDB). The PDB will continue to be available from http://www.rcsb.org/pdb/.
The PDB will no longer be available from the Brookhaven National Laboratory
(BNL) site as of June 30, 1999. Questions may be sent to info@rcsb.org.
New structures should be deposited using the AutoDep Input Tool (ADIT;
http://pdb.rutgers.edu/adit/).
Deposition sessions that were started using BNL's AutoDep may be completed
at the RCSB at http://pdb.rutgers.edu/~adbnl/
The PDB can be searched by using SearchLite for simple text searching,
and by using SearchFields for broader searches. These search engines are
available at http://www.rcsb.org/pdb/.
The processing status of structures to be released in the PDB can be searched
at http://www.rcsb.org/pdb/status.html.
The RCSB is maintaining a copy of the PDB FTP server using the same
directory structure that was previously maintained by BNL. This archive
is located at ftp://bnlarchive.rcsb.org/.
The RCSB is also maintaining a simple logical directory structure for the
PDB FTP server at ftp://ftp.rcsb.org/.
Information on how to link to structures in the PDB is available at
http://www.rcsb.org/pdb/linking.html.
PDB resources and documentation are available at http://www.rcsb.org/pdb/info.html.

18th IUCr Congress and General
Assembly, Glasgow, UK, 4th - 13th August 1999. If you have not yet
registered for IUCr99, please remember the deadline for reduced rates is
1st June. You can still register after this, but you will have to
pay an increased fee. It helps a lot with the planning if you register
early. Also be aware that some social events have a maximum number of people
who can participate, and these are are filling up quickly.
-
If you have any questions about registration, Richard Elder at Northern
Networking is processing the forms and he can be contacted on e-mail at:
Richard@glasconf.demon.co.uk.
-
If you have a query about the social programme, Euan Woodward is dealing
with this, and his e-mail is NN@glasconf.demon.co.uk.
-
Enquiries about accommodation go to desk@keyreservations.com.
There have been some problems with their e-mail, but these should now be
resolved.
-
Enquiries about abstracts go to queries@glabs.nd.rl.ac.uk.
Note that there have been some delays in notification of poster codes and
scheduling. These delays should be resolved by the start of next week.
