NIST Center for Neutron Research Postdoctoral position


We are seeking candidates for a postdoctoral position focused on studying hydrogen-storage-related phenomena at the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Center for Neutron Research, Gaithersburg, MD.

The successful candidate will contribute to research aimed at understanding the physics and chemistry underpinning hydrogen interactions in both adsorbent and hydride systems. The primary tools to this end involve the use of neutron diffraction, inelastic neutron scattering and quasi-elastic neutron scattering techniques. Candidates must have a PhD in a physical science. Experience in neutron or X-ray scattering is desirable but not essential.

Appointment will initially be for two years with the possibility of extension for up to two additional years. Salary is in the range from $54,000 to $60,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
