Hi,

Just thought I'd add more babble about replies for you all to ruminate
on.

I administer mailing list on a totally different subject (LIMS - Lab
Info Mgmt Systems) and it always amazes me (now don't take this the
wrong way) how much traffic a topic like this generates!

Example: I came in today to 20 new messages in this account (I'll have
about 100-200 in my UNIX account from the LIMS list) of which 10 or 12
were from the Rietveld list. This represents more messages than I have
received from the Rietveld list in the past oh ... month or so.

I guess my point here is that while I happen to agree with the "more
the better and let me delete what I don't want to read" opinion, it
would be nice to see as much lively discussion on Rietveld problems on
the list as this has seemed to have generated. This is exactly the
point Dave Bish was getting at and the one echoed by others - all that
useful knowledge and discussion is passing me by!

I joined this list hoping to learn more about this method but all I
ever seem to see are questions. The answers, while most valuable to
the asker, often sparks ideas and commentary that leads to the most
useful discussions, especially for those like myself, who are trying to
learn about the method and apply it in their work.

The group seems like a good idea as long as the list is not abandoned,
possibly orphaning those who don't have newsfeed.

My $0.02. Thanks for listening.
Stu
