Dear Rietveld Users,

We are about to buy a powder X-ray diffractometer and would appreciate any
thoughts you might have from your experience.

Specifically, we are a small school with one (good) electronics technician, not
a full staff of analysts. The powder diffractometer will be heavily used by
students and faculty for phase identification (including materials, minerals,
rocks, and clays in soils) at room temperature. We will align the instrument
ourselves and are interested in a durable machine, with easy-to-understand
software. Any comments?

Thanks very much for your help.
