Hello everybody

This mail is about comminution of rocks. When you grind rock it will
split in different kinds of grains. Depending of how hard you grind and
the size of the crystals the product will to a certain degree consist of
aggregates or broken crystals. The question is how do you predict how
the rock breaks up. To predict this one have to know the caracteristics
of the comminuted product.

A theory can be that if the rock mainly break up by the cracking of one
mineral, then this mineral should dominate the surface of the
aggregates. Therefore I would like to use Rietveld to make quantitative
describtions of aggregates surfaces. Is this possible?

Sincerely
