Touch typing can be a curse so I will try and restrain
myself with minimal ellaborations.

Would it be fair to say one of the main questions then
is whether Rietveld users are better served/(feel more
comfortable) sharing an existing newsgroup (such as stx)
or would feel more comfortable with our own resource
customised for our use?

Time willing, people may like to browse the
bionet.xtallography archive going back to 18 May 92.
http://www.bio.net/hypermail/PROTEIN-CRYSTALLOGRAPHY/
This includes the ability to post messages via email to:
xtal-log@net.bio.net
(This is what every bionet newsgroup gets by default)

While I use s.t.xtallography, one thing I do not likeis the lack of the mail gateway. This disadvantagespeople from areas where just having email is a luxury. No easy fix for this as Alan can also testify.

Lachlan.
