In case it wasn't clear - if anything went ahead - there would
not be two Rietveld mailing lists or newsgroups. It would be
a matter of moving the present list to another listserver.

For email users (if there was a change) the only change
you would hopefully see is that instead of Rietveld
email coming from ill.fr - it would
start originating from iucr.org or bio.net. Topics and
participants would hopefully be unaffected. In theory, this
can be done transparently - just take the participant list
from listserv@ill.fr - and put it on the new listserv.

(The other technicality of putting an automatic reply on
the ill.fr listserv that the subscribe address has
changed. This would be for people who only heard about
the old address)

Lachlan.

PS: If put on the bionet - there would be no limit on just
discussing biological Rietveld. The suggestion of moving
the list to a bionet newsgroup is mainly to obtain EXTRA
resources such as newsgroup accessibility and auto-archiving.

Though if newsgroup access is not considered an important
thing - there is the possibility of obtaining auto-archiving,
not only at bio.net - but also at iucr.org.
