The first line should read: #VRML V1.0 ascii or: #VRML V2.0 ascii
Does it ? (Save the file from Netscape and open it with a text editor).

Most crystal structure VRML files are version #VRML V1.0 ascii
for which the best visualiser on an SGI is "ivview" not CosmoPlayer.
You should already have "ivview" on your machine if it is recent.
