[sdpd] a suggestion...

Dear Dr. Armel and SDPD members.
Still as to regards the e-mail about fees of SDPD Internet Course and
some natural difficulties of students in poor countries, I should like
to direct a suggestion: besides the mailing list on SDPD and the course
for free available in the Web, could be very useful to create a powder
diffraction data base in the Web, with data given up by different
laboratories/researchers related to different materials, obtained in
different instrumental resolution and useful to training in the
application of SDPD strategies. Data with typical resolution attained
in a powder diffractometer installed in synchrotron beam lines for
example, many of us, know only in the literature. This data base should
be also good to planning the upgrade of x-ray diffraction equipment and
to establish collaboration between laboratories.
My best regards.
