RE: [sdpd] The teacher nightmare

Oops - sorry Armel, for calling you "Cristal!" I misread the name in the
"from" line.

Subject: [sdpd] The teacher nightmare

Hi,

Commercial companies all have their search-match
software. Few can read the data recorded from
other companies diffractometers. Here is the
crystallography teacher nightmare. Programs
able to convert data exist but few offer a complete
list of possibilities. I am searching either for a
converter of Siemens/Bruker .raw or .uxd data
to STOE .raw data or for the details of the STOE
.raw format.

Thanks,

Armel

PS - A good Idea for those companies making
software : could they build the possibility to open
simple X-Y data in their software (or a .CIF file) ?
That would close the nightmare. To agree on a
standard file would be nice and not necessarily
counter-commercial...
