[sdpd] Powder Diffraction SMRR-2002 - Step 2



Dear Powder Diffraction users, Phase Identifiers,

Step 1 of the Search-Match Round Robin 2002 is closed, 
~20 participants have sent results.

Step 2 starts right now, with additional informations about
the sample chemistry :
 - Sample 1 - Contains : Fe, Al, P, Si, O, C and H, other 
   traces possible, specimen from Rapid Creek, Yukon, Canada.
 - Sample 2 - Contains : Si, O, maybe F,  plus an organic 
   molecule.
 - Sample 3 - Molecular formula : C13H10N2O4, possibly 
   several polymorphs.
 - Sample 4 - Contains : Pb, S, O, Trace C, and H. The 
   customer says it is a cured plate from a lead acid 
   battery plant - created by mixing lead oxide with 
   sulphuric acid, pasted on a lead grid and cured at 
   high humidity somewhere between 50 to 90 degrees Celcius.

The deadline for the end of step 2 is June 30, 2002.

Participants to step 1 may well decide to participate also
to step 2. This is even expected, unless they consider that
their step 1 results were perfect already.
