Each different anode has a charateristic wavelength.  Thereefors, you will 
see a shift in position of the peaks from the same sample.  As for 
intensity, the lower the enegy of the characteristic x-rays (lighter 3d 
element targets), the more absorption you will get in air and the more 
reduction in intensity that you will see.  however, the maid factor in 
intensity is the power of the tube.  An old 0.8kW tube will have a lower 
intensity than a newer 1.6kW tube.
