[sdpd] Yvon Laligant

Hello,

A friend of mines deceased last Friday.

Yvon Laligant, CNRS researcher, was a brilliant chemist,
frequent user of the powder diffraction methodologies.
Author of ~20 structure determinations from powder
diffraction data. Author and co-author of ~70 scientific
papers, many of them applying the Rietveld method.
As inorganic chemist, he was interested in, and synthesized,
many palladium-based compounds, chromates, molybdates,
phosphates, fluorides (especially weberites), superconductors.
He realized many experiments at the ILL, for the characterization
of magnetic properties, frustration. Since the beginning in 1999,
he was one of the teachers of the SDPD Internet Course.

He was a true friend, too modest and undemonstrative.

He was really too young to leave us.

Good bye Yvon.
