Rietveld Users Mailing List.

Lachlan Cranswick ( lachlan@dmp.csiro.au )
(no date)

This is a quick E-mail to Rietveld users to confirm
that the mailing list software is working. If
articles are not appearing - this is due to
no-body posting. It should be noted that this
mailing list has a similiar volume and
frequency of messages to the PDB crystallography
mailing list - a quick minor flurry of messages
then a gap of either weeks or months.

If you have any messages to send to the mailing list,
email to :-

rietveld@xtal.cmc.uab.edu

If you have any requests to make to the
listserv software, send your messages to :-

rietveld-Request@xtal.cmc.uab.edu

==================================

Based on email requests, and as the number of participants
is going towards the 200 mark - I am looking in to mirroring
this mailing list with a Usenet newsgroup.
This may take some time to check out.

Cheers,

Lachlan.

Lachlan, just a minor correction on this. Ray Young is not "the author"of DBWS. The name of the program represents the initials of D.B.Wiles,who wrote most of the code, based on original code by Hugo Rietveld. This code was later modified by a guy called Sakthivel (spelling ?) hencethe S in DBWS. This is in the doc. that comes with the pgm., and RAYwould be the first to tell you about W&S. You could also ask him who firstimplemented the DOS version - I thought it was a guy in Germany, butthere may be more than one DOS version.
