Los Alamos National Laboratory awards postdoctoral fellowships for
exceptional recent PhDs. Postdoctoral fellowships are competed on a
Laboratory-wide basis 4 times a year (the next competition is in February),
and successful candidates must have strong academic and publication
records. Postdoctoral fellows have the opportunity to pursue research
topics of their own choosing.

The Geology and Geochemistry Group (EES-1), which is part of the Earth and
Environmental Division, is interested in sponsoring geoscientists for
postdoctoral fellowship competition. The expertise within EES-1 includes
geochemists, mineralogists, petrologists, and volcanologists. In addition,
a wide range of analytical and computational equipment is available within
EES-1 and at Los Alamos in general. EES-1 staff members work on a variety
of problems, most of which relate to environmental issues.

EES-1 postdoctoral fellows also have the opportunity to work with the EES
Division and Los Alamos at large. EES Division has expertise ranging from
advanced computational modeling to field analysis to ecology. Los Alamos
in general has a broad scientific base in materials science, biology,
physics, and chemistry.

Individuals interested in learning more about EES-1 or Los Alamos can
