Reminder: How (not) to use the Rietveld mailing list

There is some confusion about the use of the Rietveld mailing list.
I am getting up to 20 error messages a day !

1) If you do "Reply" to a message, it goes to the WHOLE LIST. Please
DON'T DO THAT if you are sending a personal message (especially
if its in a language I don't completely understand :-)

2) Address messages to everyone at Rietveld_l@ill.fr (_l for list)
Address listserver commands such as HELP to listserv@ill.fr

3) Please check your OWN return email address (by sending a message
to yourself - Yes ! ). If it is of the type:

CrypticName@myPC.myBld.myLab.Country it is almost certainly WRONG !!!

If "myPC" changes or goes down, the message may bounce. And I can't find
"CrypticName" in the IUCr directory, so can't correct it :-) A correct email
address should be of the type:

RealName@myLab.Country

Get your email administrator to make sure that the message is then forwarded
by his computer "myLab" to your particular computer "myPC.myBld"

If you are using a mailer such as Eudora (excellent free choice) on a PC or Mac,
YOU can set your own return address in the options. Please check these options.

Other than that, the Rietveld mailing list seems to work well. Even Hugo R.
is a member :-) Best wishes for 1997, Alan H.
