Re: Reminder: How (not) to use the Rietveld mailing list

Digital eyebrows were raised again in this user group. This time, a short
personal message slipped through encoded in German. Um Himmels Willen! Nix
Verstehen! Let's stay cool: Grenoble is still safe and the Internet is not
the Enigma.

My question here is the following: is it fair to turn to this usergroup and
request data from a data bank like ICSD. In the case of Helge Stanjek, I
never saw this particular data set (i.e. siderotil) in my messages and assume
she never got what she asked for. But I am sure that there are many
subscribers out there who are in possession of these data. Is there a problem
with copyrights if the subscriber to a data bank like the ICSD passes on a
set of data once in a while through these media? In other newsgroups, I see
structural data passed on all the time, in particular PDF-files from JCPDS.
What's the code of conduct here?
