Alan,
If the structure is very simple then a 486 could display
a VRML picture. However, the rest of GSAS does work well
on this kind of machine. It might get a little tedious
waiting for GENLES on a really big refinement, though.
SGI (and other) versions of GSAS use X-windows for the
"G" option (not OpenGL) so it really should work on an
X-windows emulator on a PC. I run it that way sometimes
here.
