As you describe your setting, what do you mean by having the "0.2 degree
receiving slit behind a graphite monochromator"? Is it in front of the
detector? You need all the intensity from a diffracted beam monochromator you
can get; no slit is necessary to be placed behind it i.e. in front of the
detector.
