One day Size/Strain and Quantitative Phase Analysis Software Workshop
With EPDIC 9: all day Thursday, 2nd September 2004, Prague, Czech Republic

Costs are part of the EPDIC 9 registration
Size/Strain using Powder Diffraction in the morning (9am to 12:20pm)
Quantitative Phase Analysis in the afternoon (1:30pm to 4:50pm)

With the main theme of showing what is practical and possible with the
latest powder diffraction software; and thanks to resources provided by
the EPDIC (European Powder Diffraction Conference) conference
organisers, there will be a free software workshop as part of the
EPDIC-9 Prague, Czech Republic conference registration. Just tick the
workshop box in the EPDIC 9 registration form (and also E-mail:
lachlan.cranswick...@nrc.gc.ca)
This workshop will be held in the Faculty of Civil Engineering, at the
Czech Technical University, Prague. (maps are linked to on the above
website) A variety of speakers will show participants some of the
advanced features in available crystallographic software.
The main aim is to have 20 minute live sessions that show 1 to 2
problems on using the power tools in the various powder diffraction
software packages in handling tricky problems that might not
appreciated.
It is requested that participants read up on the software prior to the
workshop via the weblinks given in the above webpage (CD-ROMs can be
sent with most of the software and information to those isolated from
the internet). Thus presenters can go straight into their software
demonstrations with very minimal introduction.
A light breakfast from 8am to 8.50am ; morning tea/coffee, a light lunch
and afternoon tea/coffee is included free as part of the workshop to
EPDIC participants.
