I agree Touloukian is expensive, but where else can you obtain such a
substantial set of critically reviewed data? You could spend many days
searching the literature and assessing the results yourself.
Note that the equation for the thermal expansion of ZnO given in Touloukian
(at least our edition) has a serious typographic error one of the
polynomial terms is off by a factor of 10 (c-axis expansion first term
0.612 should be 0.0612). The error was easily determined when we plotted
the original data and did our own polynomial fit. Lesson here never assume
that your literature sources are 100% correct. I¹d not be surprised to learn
of other typographic errors if anyone in the SDPD group knows of other
mistakes please let me know.
